Discovered in 1965, then fitted out and opened to the public in 1973, the Foissac cave constitutes a remarkable natural subterranean museum. As head of an active hydrogeological network explored on 10 km until now, the section fitted out for tourism is isolated from the other galleries by some impenetrable screes.
The Foissac cave is located at the edge of the Quercy Causse and the river that you will discover during the visit reaches the surface after a several kilometer passage which flows underneath the Lot Valley.
During more than one hour, the guide will present to you some geology, mineralogy and archeology notions which will allow you to understand the site and to better appreciate its beauty.
